Dear Mom...

Mom, these new blocks you gave me today were pretty cool. The color, the texture, quite fine indeed.

But then, I saw that one giant block (aka pillow) that you place behind me to cushion any minor instances of poor balance on my part. Really, Mom. I don't need padding for my falls (as if!). I'm like a cat and I always land right side up. To prove my point, I will take this large block, lift it OVER my head, set it front of me and chew on it.

I will do all of this with my hands behind my back, while I juggle those four tiny squares you just called blocks.

TA-DA! BOOM!

TOLD YA, MOM!

Love, Lily

Teething, Tottering and...Trees

It's hard to believe that Lily will be 8 months old on August 9th! We've had an awesome Summer so far, teaching her new things and watching her change. What's new? We have no teeth yet, but she is teething up a storm. We're hoping one will pop through soon and can't wait to see her new smile once one does! She's also getting very close to crawling. She gets up on all fours now and totters back and forth, working her little arms and legs. She can go backwards, which is pretty cute, and we're thinking any day she'll get the hang of going forward.

During our recent trip to Michigan, we learned that Lily ADORES trees. She watches them, talks to them, raises her arms and absolutely croons with happiness. It is so precious! Grammy and Gramps spent tons of time walking her around their yard, pond, garden and she spent a few minutes every morning rocking with Grammy on the porch swing. We had such a wonderful time in Michigan, it will most likely become a yearly Summer tradition while Jeremy is working out at Camp. Lily also experienced the beach at Lake Michigan for the first time. She loved listening to the waves and walking with me and Jeremy in the water. We all had an awesome time getting away, but it does feel good to be back home.
